On Friday, October 20th, more than 150 people gathered at Holy Trinity to hear a concert in support of new church doors, which must be replaced due to fire damage. As a parishioner put it, more than a fundraiser, it was also a great “friendraiser”. Fabulous music, delicious food, inventive cocktails and community spirit made this event special. By then end of 2015, The United Nations Refugee Agency reported 65.3 million people were displaced from their homes. This means every 60 seconds, 24 people were forced to flee due to conflict or persecution.
The Holy Trinity Refugee Committee will host it’s Annual Book Sale on Thursday, June 23 & Friday June 24 from 9 to 5 or so. This will be held outside on the south side of the building.
All funds raised directly support the work of The Holy Trinity Refugee Committee. The committee is currently going into its second year of sponsorship of a family of four from Columbia and began the sponsorship of a man from Eritrea who arrived this past February.
With the support of the Church of the Holy Trinity and other amazing volunteers and contributors, we are able to provide financial and emotional support for these refugees while they settle into a new country and community. Our twenty years of refugee sponsorship experience has been shared extensively this past year as many new groups welcomed refugees from Syria.
Always looking ahead, we are excited to continue with the tradition of a book sale fundraiser which over the years has contributed directly to the support of our newly arrived families.
Donations of books (no magazines or textbooks) can be dropped off at 19 Trinity Square Monday to Friday 11 AM to 3 PM. If you require pick up contact Margot at firstname.lastname@example.org or 416-598-4521 ext. 222
