Refugee Committee Update

By: Katherine Assad

Holy Trinity’s refugee committee is still keeping active over the pandemic with regular meetings over zoom and staying in touch with our past and present sponsored families. Following the success of the past few years taking part in the Scotiabank marathon run, we have committed to doing the run again this year, just virtually! We are so pleased to have a fundraising intern for the next few months to assist us with thinking creatively to fundraise virtually. Nana is originally from Ghana and came to Canada as a Mastercard Foundation Scholar. Mastercard Foundation Scholars are young people who are academically talented and demonstrate leadership potential but don’t have the financial means to go to university. The goal of the program is to develop a network of leaders who will drive the socio-economic transformation of Africa. We look forward to working with her over the next few months. Stay tuned for more information about our virtual marathon run this coming October!
