Holy Trinity boasts a magnificent acoustical space and three fine concert instruments (piano and organ) which have attracted many professional and community music groups to use our space. To mark our 160th anniversary, the congregation published a hymnbook: “Sing a New Song: 46 Community Hymns” written by members of the congregation. We also published a new psalter by community member Ian Sowton who reworked the psalms into modern idiom.
Holy Trinity’s organ is a Casavant organ built in 1970 for Deer Park United Church. It is a magnificent instrument and we are very excited to have been allowed to purchase it.
We recently acquired a very lightly used 10-year-old Steinway “B” from a private donor, with the generous assistance of Steinway Piano Gallery. Now, we have a truly performance capable instrument, and at a fraction of the cost! It has a beautiful sound, and custom East Indian Rosewood Case. The piano is considered the perfect size for all but concerto use, and is ideal for concerts at the church. The Steinway is available by special arrangement, but we have a very credible refurbished century-old Bechstein model E concert grand with a warm sound and light action.
