Description

175 years of parish history

Copies of Bill Whitla’s updated ‘Brief History’ of Holy Trinity are now available as we observe our 175th year.

The 30-page booklet includes a number of photos from various eras and recounts the origins of the church with the stipulation that no pew rents were to be charged through various liturgical and social changes: outreach to the unemployed during the Great Depression, welcoming U.S. draft dodgers, introducing The Christmas Story, hosting gay dances and non-Anglican congregations, building affordable housing and incorporating non-patriarchal language into worship.

New material has been added including the story of Unity Kitchen’s establishment during the Covid-19 pandemic.
