Event Details

Join us at the Church of the Holy Trinity for this year’s Doors Open Toronto, which the city describes as “This year we celebrate the people, places and stories that make the city a global mosaic. From architectures inspired by the many cultures and traditions that call Toronto home to buildings that act as community gathering spaces, this year we look at how diversity has.”

Located beside the Eaton Centre in downtown Toronto, our historic church opens its doors for a full day (Sunday) of exploration, creativity, and connection. Visitors are invited to experience the playful spirit that energizes both our sacred and community life!

Join us on Sunday to enjoy music, movement, and an exhibit of artwork created by members of our community. You’ll also have the opportunity to meet many of the partners who regularly activate our space through food justice initiatives, arts programming, harm reduction, and social advocacy. Sunday worship services are open to all.

Groups Tabling at Holy Trinity Throughout Doors Open

  • Our Hub Program – Learn more about our Tuesday and Wednesday Meal Program & Harm Reduction
  • Our Refugee Committee – Learn about our historical and ongoing work resettling refugees in Canada

Since 1847, the Church of the Holy Trinity has stood as a place of worship, refuge, and radical welcome in the heart of the city. Known for its commitment to social justice, the church has long been a home to movements supporting affordable housing, 2SLGBTQ+ rights, Indigenous solidarity, and the arts; Holy Trinity has used its space as a platform for compassion and change. As you walk through our doors during this special weekend, we invite you to reflect not only on the beauty of the building but on the living history of justice and joy it continues to uphold.

ECHO is a strong, varied and vibrant choir that cultivates the beautiful and powerful sound of adult women’s voices. We take great joy in singing together and in sharing a rich and diverse repertoire with our audiences at our concerts and at grassroots events around the city. Each of our semi-annual concerts, in May and December, features a guest artist who has worked with the choir to bring us new skills, insights, and songs. The music we sing reflects themes of joy, struggle, resistance, and love for one another and the Earth. It includes: traditional folk songs in a variety of languages from around the world music we have learned from our guest artists work by contemporary Canadian composers music from the jazz, blues, classical, modern folk and rock traditions One Voice, our 25th anniversary CD with our favourite songs from 2002 to 2018, is now available. ECHO is dedicated to remaining an accessible community to all people in Toronto by allowing a sliding scale for membership fees and for concert tickets.
